Hangetsu
Hangetsu is classed as a "free kata" and may be chosen as a grading kata by Nidan and above. One of the main references for this kata is Nakayama Sensei "Best Karate" Volume 7. Nakayama states "The kata was once called Seishan, it came to be known as Hangetsu (half moon) from the semicircular movements of the hands and the feet."
