Gojushiho Dai
Gojushiho Dai is classed as a "free kata" and may be chosen as a grading kata by Nidan and above, with 62 movements it is one of the long kata. One of the main references for this kata is Nakayama Sensei "Best Karate" Volume 11. Nakayama states "This kata characteristics are varied smooth and flowing techniques, stances that require execellent balance. A high level of technical skill is required to perform this kata effectively". For this reason it is commonly selected by Karateka in competition.
